Depending on the time of year, you may also be invited to attend public information events. Children are invited to trial sessions or a trial day, after which you will receive feedback. You will usually receive either an acceptance (if a place is available) or information about your position on the waiting list within two weeks after the trial.

What is the group structure like, what are age-homogeneous groups, how big is a group/class and how many educators are there?

Kindergarten groups and primary school classes consist of 20 children. Nursery group sizes vary depending on age and range from 10 to 16 children.
Each group is supervised by two qualified educators, one German-speaking and one English-speaking.

What does “age-homogeneous groups” mean?

Children are assigned to groups based on their age. This allows children with similar developmental levels to learn together and ensures that core skills can be effectively supported and developed for all children.

How are breakfast, snacks and lunch organised?

In the nursery and kindergarten, a sugar-free, chew-friendly breakfast is provided.
In preschool and primary school, breakfast and snacks are brought from home for logistical reasons.

Kids Camp nurseries and kindergartens are open almost year-round. At Kids Camp Königstein, there is a winter break between Christmas and New Year.

The Kids Camp preschool and primary school are closed during the third and fourth weeks of the Hessian summer holidays, as well as during the Hessian winter holidays.
During the remaining holiday periods, a specially designed holiday programme is offered.
There are also two additional closure days per year for staff training.

Where do the families come from originally?

Kids Camp is home to families from over 30 different nationalities. Due to its location and proximity to Frankfurt, Kids Camp’s catchment area is quite large, while still being attractive to families living directly in Königstein.

How is the bilingual concept implemented? How do children learn the languages?

Children learn English and German through an immersive approach, meaning both languages are consistently present in everyday life. Each staff member speaks in their assigned language, and children respond in that same language. Programme activities are evenly distributed, ensuring both languages are represented equally.

If a child initially speaks only one language, educators rely heavily on supportive facial expressions, gestures and visual aids such as picture cards. The earlier children are introduced to this concept, the easier it becomes for them. As a rule, children are able to develop sufficient language skills during the preschool year – even without prior knowledge – to successfully follow lessons in first class.

Which secondary schools do Kids Camp children attend after primary school?

The primary school is state-recognised. Grammar schools and international schools accept children who have completed the Kids Camp primary school without additional entrance tests. Feedback from secondary schools has been consistently positive.
