A day brimming with discoveries and adventures awaited the first-grade children of Kids Camp Primary School as they visited the Landesmuseum Darmstadt at the end of April. Anticipation was tangible as the students eagerly set out in the morning to explore the captivating world of art and nature. The excursion promised to be an experience rich with new discoveries and exciting encounters with past eras, artistic masterpieces and the wonders of nature.

Upon arrival at the museum, the children enjoyed a breakfast in the nearby park to fuel up for the day ahead. They then divided into groups to explore the museum’s diverse exhibitions. While some were mesmerized by the intricate paintings of past centuries, others admired the splendid natural history exhibits.

The impressions shared by the students later with the class were particularly inspiring. One child raved about the majestic Japanese samurais, while another excitedly recounted their encounter with prehistoric mammoth bones. Others were equally fascinated by the sparkling gemstones and the lifelike animal exhibits.

After a morning filled with experiences, the children returned to the park for a well-deserved break, enjoying their lunch and replenishing their energy on the playground for the afternoon at the museum.

With renewed energy and enthusiasm, everyone returned to the museum to continue their journey of discovery. It was lovely to see the children continue to roam through the exhibition rooms with keen interest, discovering new and exciting details and connections along the way.

As the afternoon drew to a close, the children and the teachers alike embarked on the journey back to school with a sense of fulfillment and excitement from all they had learned. This excursion was not only a welcome break from the school routine but also a valuable opportunity for our students to learn, explore and create unforgettable memories together.
